This week, we’re kicking off our April content creation. This means that for the rest of March, we’ll be focusing on creating content for our retainer clients which go live from the 1st of April.
Our content creation services cover:
Creating templates for each brand’s content: this is designed to act as a guide for the month’s content. In these templates, we include any topics, promotions, offers, product showcases, new product launches, key dates etc that need to be covered in that month’s content as well as any learnings and insights we found during last week’s content brainstorming session. Each topic that we include in the template needs to link back to the brand’s overall communication strategy.
Writing content: we give these templates to our content writer Abi, who then fleshes out the captions and hashtags based on each post’s topic
Capturing imagery (videos, GIFs, images and graphics). We have scheduled each brand’s photoshoot for the next 2 weeks, so we know which brand we’re shooting on what day. The day before each shoot, we source any relevant props and ingredients. Just before we leave the studio for the day, we prep the space for the following day’s shoots and round up all the props needed from the prop cupboard so that we’re ready to go first thing in the morning. Now you see why we schedule any one-off shoots to take place in the first 2 weeks of the month!
We then put all of the content together and send it off for approval. For the clients who schedule their content, they get their imagery numbered so they can easily match images to their captions in their scheduling tools. For the clients that we schedule content for, we hand that over to Leigh-Ann who schedules the content and gets it ready for publication. We only schedule content once it’s been approved.

While we’re working on next month’s content, we’re also busy finishing up a few tasks from March. We have a VERY detailed content tracker that we keep updated on a daily basis that shows us what tasks have been completed for each client and what still needs to be done for us to fulfil our retainer requirements. In this 3rd week of the month, we’ll research and write any blog posts for March and send those over to the clients for review. In some cases we load their approved blogs straight onto their website for them, in other cases the client does that themselves.

EDMs (digital newsletters) are also a big part of our monthly retainer services, so every week we’ll be looking at our EDM to do list to make sure we’re creating the newsletters in line with an approved schedule.
